I wonder what art is?

I wonder what art is? Or if the word is usable at the moment? We seem to be going through a phase where words are both ultra-defined and very flexible in their meanings. That is I suppose what one would call fundamentalism – of any type, religious, bureaucratic, etc. And with fundamentalism comes heresy. So I suppose if I were to suggest what art might be, it would be that with respect to any sort of fundamentalism, it is heresy.
